Actually, boiling doesn't seem to kill it. It just makes it vulnerable to being eaten. If the fish don't eat it after boiling, it will eventually regain its color and start all over again. Boiling doesn't make it any easier to remove either, just gets rid of the substance that makes it not edible to fish. H202 will work great at getting rid of it.
