I was never impressed with Albany Aquarium either, despite the rave reviews it has gotten here. Someone tried to defend their high prices by stating that you're paying for knowledgable help but the last time I was there the staff were all teenage kids who didn't know much about anything. I recently went to Albany Aquarium (Richmond) (a lot of people think this it THE LFS for bay area), well anyway, it sucked! Price are way high and fish condition was poor. There was a tank full of baby clown loaches and all of them were sick! Still the store charges 7$ each! I will not to go there again in the near future. And then, there's sunrise tropical (dally city) - where I saw a bunch of sick discus... Still on display tanks... So sad! Maybe the fish were neglected because business is not good? Store owners/keepers feel it's not worth their time?
