About the language barrier, I think they speak some decent English. I'm Chinese and spoke to them in both languages.

There may be a language problem. Whenever I go there I ask
him how he keeps the bare tanks so clean. Haven't got an answer
yet.

I think it depends on what else is going on for them. Sometimes "mom" is
forthcoming with me, sometimes she is a pill. She will always look for
stuff in the chaotic filing system of stuff they sell if I ask for it.
"Pop" has explained how his filters work for me, showed me his back room,
helped me sex goldfish and smiled alot when I admire the goldies.
Sometimes he is just distracted or pretty closed.
