The two shops I frequent are Albany Aquarium and Octopus's Garden. Both are accessible by BART. Albany Aquarium is about a 10-minute walk from the El Cerrito Plaza BART station. It's THE place to go for rare plants. They get plant shipments from the Far East every two weeks. Let's see, if you're coming on May 7th AND if their receiving schedule doesn't change, you'll be coming during an off-week (meaning they'll be expecting a shipment on the evening of the 9th or 10th) and they may not have a very impressive selection left if you go that weekend. It's worth a visit, anyway. You can see their tiny display tank with both Hemianthus callitrichoides AND Elatine triandra growing well. Octopus's Garden is a 5-minute (or less) walk from the Ashby BART station, in Berkeley. They've got lots of neat fish - plecs, cichlids, ornamental shrimp, and some SW stuff, too. Their prices on hardware are pretty good. You sure you don't want to change to 5/1? ;-p... Hope you have an enjoyable stay! -Naomi =========================================================== INSTANT CAR INSURANCE QUOTE! Save time, save money, and get the best deal.
