Speaking of helping others out...
Was it Zack that needed the plants? (Man my memory is bad...and I am only 36!...YIKES!) Anyway...pruned today and I have two types of Hygro (one large, one small), some dwarf tennellus, and some glosso. If you want it Zack...it's yours!
If not...Deb...it's all yours! And welcome to our group!
Regards,
Michael Laflamme
P.S. Can anyone give me the scientific name for "Mermaids Feather"? Erik? Dave? Cliff?

Hi, my name is Deb (Deborah) and thought this was a good time to say hi.
I just started planting and my goal is to have a tank that replicates
the look and feel of the tank I remember vaguely when I was little in
1968-72 with live plants. I've also decided to offer my roommates a tank
in the common area instead of a TV. Other critters include a Betta, two
Chinese newts and two box turtles (all separate housing).
So,... I'm invested in a 45-gal tank (have had since I was 12 - I am 37)
and have Amazon Swords (propogating like you wouldn't believe), java
moss, java ferns, and two different kinds of Arnica (sp?) plus something
else that looks a lot like what you have. It's not the same plant type,
since roots are growing from each of the nodes and the leaves grow
independently from the side branches. Seems to be a favorite of my
Angels (4) as snacking food.
The only other fish are three otos and 13 neons (all thriving).
Sometime I plan to add some/several platies of varying colors and maybe
a few others, perhaps guppies or more likely other fish that were
commonly offered in the time period between 1966 and 1972. My goal is
taking shape.
And, my light(s) are just a standard flur. 36" plant light & standard
light fixure from a 20-gal tank. So minimal light at this point.
I am currently in school for web site design (let me know if there's any
takers!) so have little budget for fish/plants, and will be looking for
work in April. I have nine years of Marcom experience. (my apologies if
the plug is inappropriate)
So, hi!
