Re: A little bit of plant help please?  Zack S

The CO2 system from Albany Aquarium came with a JBJ regulator, solenoid,
needle valve, JBJ bubble counter and check valve built into one, six feet of
silicone tubing, and the thing that made my decision to get it there was
that it comes with a full 5# pound tank of CO2, and he will always switch
your old tank with a new instantly for 15 dollars (although since Albany is
so far away from me, I'll probably be going to that gas company in SF). Guy
also said that he is building diffusors that he makes and designs (he has
one in the big planted tank) which don't waste any CO2 at all. I will
probably be buying one of those once he has some for sale. The price for
everything but diffusor was $199.99, and he then spent at least half an hour
going over everything with me and answering any questions I had. If you're
reading this, thanks Guy!

Dave, I know you had a setup for sale, and I would have liked to buy it, but
I can't drive, so my parents have to take me most places. Unfortunately,
they would not have been happy having to pick up the system, go another
place to buy and fill the CO2 tank, and another place to buy a solenoid. I
also know that you don't agree with using a solenoid, but I know many people
who do use one and I wanted the option of trying it out. :)

Zack, can you say some more about the Albany Aquarium CO2 system and what
led you to select it?

 Hey everybody,

Happy New Years, and I hope you all had a great holiday.

Well, my lights arrived a few weeks ago (2x65 watt 6500Kcompact
flourescents) and I just picked up the pressurized CO2 tonight from Guy at
Albany Aquarium (this is all for my 55 gallon, for those of you who don't
know).

I feel kind of weird doing this, but I know how you planted tank owners
sometimes end up just tossing away cuttings, so I was wondering if anybody
had anything that they need to get rid of that would do well under 2.3
watts of intense compact flourescent light w/ pressurized CO2 and
Flourish, Flourish Potassium, Flourish Iron, Flourish Tabs, and whatever
else is needed being dosed.

Thanks so much,
Zack

P.S. Any ideas on when the next SFBAAPS meeting will be? Can you join at a
meeting/event?
