I would have to say my two favorites are these: The Optimum Aquarium by Horst and Kipper. Great book...out of print...do I need to say anymore? And off the plant topic...The Marine Aquarium Problem Solver by Nick Dakin. If you are thinking of starting a marine tank, or a reef tank, this is the book to have. This is like a "marine fish and reef tanks for dummies" book. This author really keeps it simple and communicates at the simplest level. Easy reading...and very good info. On one page he has what looks like a multiplication table of fish listed vertically, and then again horizontally. To check compatibiity, one simply finds the fish in question on the verticle column, then slides his hand across the horizontal column. Non-compatible fish are highlighted, as well as questionable ones, and the compatible ones are highlighted also. That alone...makes it worth it! Happy New Year to all!
