Okay, maybe a small-mouth water bottle wasn't the best idea :-/. You should
still be able to keep them in something small like a pickle jar without
problems. I'd think that they would find enough food in a little wad of
Java moss, but you could also pulverize an algae wafer in a separate jar of
water and use an eyedropper to add smaller amounts of the suspended algae
into your container with the daphnia. But you've probably figured this out
by now... Live and learn.

possibilities... I transferred them from a sink-sized washtub to a 2
liter soda bottle, them got the brilliant idea of feeding them part of a
crumbled up algae wafer...maybe the idea was OK, but the quantity
definitely was not. The wafer decayed...the bacterial explosion, combined
with the small opening in the bottle caused an O2 deficit...and odiferousness.

Can I ask how you "managed to kill them..."? I'm curious because I've heard
that AmQuel can wipe out an entire culture of daphnia. Otherwise, the
little buggers are really easy to keep! I had some a few years ago but I
suspect this is how I introduced hydra into my tank. So I stopped for fear
of further contamination.
Just curious... Sorry I don't know where you could get more.

kill them last week. If anyone has them I'd love to buy some. The
breeding pair of Koi angels I bought at the last auction spawned the third
time (!) last Saturday and the fry's yolk sacs wil be absorbed by
tomorrow. I have microworms going and brine shrimp eggs on hand, but it
would be nice to have daphnia as well. I have a fair amount of riccia I
could bring, but it has duckweed growing in it. Would people still be
interested in it?
