The Forests Forever field trip I mentioned has been finalized. We're going to Humboldt Redwoods State Park, just south of Eureka - http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=425 We want to do this either the 1st or 2nd weekend in Sept. The Park has the Eel river and 1 or 2 tributaries, and is also a stone's throw away from 6 Rivers National Forest. Not to mention Humboldt Bay and estuaries south of there. There will be about 15 to 20 in our group, which means we'll be reserving entire campsites. If there's enough SFAS folks want to come I'll arrange to reserve our own campsite, since we'll probably be doing different things, like collecting from the waters.. <g> My wife and I will be leaving on the Friday, coming back Sun. afternoon probably.
