Does it touch on Leng Sy's "Magic Mud" system? I hear this
is the best and ONLY way to do reefs! (j/k)

Just finished reading an excellent article in the August
issue of Aquarium Fish Magazine concerning the basics for
a reef tank and coral care. I thought it was a wonderful
article for the beginner. I find some AFM articles are
lacking, or leave out some important info, but this one
was very complete. Except for the exclusion of combined
liquid calcium additives, the article covered all the
bases. There was also an excellent reference section of
reading (corals, reefs) included at the end of the
article.
If you are interested in reefs, this is the perfect
article to jump start your obsession, and clear up some
of your fears and queries.
