Karlton,
The Black peppering are similar to the black bars on Discus. The black
bars and peppering will show when the Discus are in stress. If the
parents or grandparents of the Pigeons Bloods didn't have the black spots
then the off spriings should be pretty clean unless these are the
rejects.
Yes, if nitrates, ammonia , temperature and etc. are not correct then the
spots will show.

Yes, I got a couple of the small Golden Pigeon Bloods, and they do
have some
peppering, which I expected to see anyway.

Cliff,

Are you saying that there will be more peppering if the water is
high in
nitrates, or??

Were they Tom Richardson's Pigeon. If they were Tom's Pigeon they
are
pretty clean except for some black spots on the forehead and anal
fin.
 Check your water conditions.

I bought three Pigeon Blood Discus at last Friday's auction.
They

 seem
to be peppering quite a bit. Are they doing this to anyone else
who

 bought some?

Thanks,
Zack
