Oh boy. I just this weekend cut back some of my plants and ended up tossing
the cuttings.. I started a new 50 gal tank about 2 months ago - 130 watt
powercompact lighting with CO2. Seeded the new tank with about 15 plants. I
just went around to all the fish stores in San Francsico buying whatever I
could find that was fast growing. Still got an algae bloom though after a
week or 2. Had algae for about a month or more before it went away. But now
the only algae we have is some string algae on the java moss, and that also
appears to be dwindling. In any event, if you get over to SF let me know.
I have maybe 4 plants that can spare some cuttings if that helps at all..

Subject: plant clippings

I am new to the planted tank scene, and I have been told to put as much
plant material into the tank as possible to try and outrun the algae. I
have a 90 gallon tank, 260 watts of light and no CO2 (yet. That's the
next project)). Is there anyone near Albany/Berkeley who is willing to
give away plantable plant scraps?

Thanks.
