Jim,
I could've given you a bucket load of the stuff. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the meeting tonight, and gave my bag full of plants(the duckweed meet the garbage can) to Eric Leung for a SFBAAPS dinner/plant swap, and the rest went onto the SF Aquarium Society meeting (I assume).
I'm sure they will have an overwhelming response however, from hobbyist who are more than happy to part ways with the stuff.
Take care,
Michael Laflamme

I had an interesting call today from an Army research lab. They are studying
duckweed as an animal feed product and need to collect various types of the
stuff.
If you are interested in helping and are coming to either the San Francisco
Aquarium Society or the Silicon Valley Aquarium Society (Friday and Saturday
respectfully) I would appreciate a sample of your weed (duck).
Remember that the SFAS meeting is with Dr. Paul Loiselle and SVAS is their
first MEGA auction. Both should be very interesting meetings.
He sent some information about the duckweed (and there is more info is you
need it):
"We are primarily interested in Lemna gibba
(swollen duckweed or windbags; http://waynesword.palomar.edu/legi.htm ),
though we could fall back on Lemna minor (common duckweed;
http://waynesword.palomar.edu/lemi.htm ) if necessary."
Take care,
Jim Atchison
