Al Castro comes up here & there during freshwater fish spawning discussions - he'll be sorely missed. I enjoyed reading his Q&A column in AFM over the past 6 years or so, hearing him speak at SFAS (just last year), and still have the three or four issues where he went over common aquarium plants in the mid-1990s. His contributions to local and international aquaristic endeavors are countless.
