Frank, What is the height distance between the outlet of your fluval and the spray bar in the tank? I ask because you stated that you had a 29 gallon tall tank. Your fluval might be losing alot of its' pressure just pumping the water against gravity to get it up to the tank. I might not be aestetically (sp?) pleasing to place the pump higher up to reduce the back pressure, but it could improve your outflow. Just a thought.
